If you use an index of performance?
How would it be cool to have a single, unique measure of performance alone to tell you everything that happens with your business or organizational performance? Just watch this performance index, and immediately know where you are heading, and what to do about it.
Hmmm. Sounds a bit too much like a crystal ball, the kind brown Russian Gypsy Hoop-earinged looked into and your future. However, many people love the idea of equivalent performance measurement the crystal ball – the performance index.
What an index online amoxil of performance?
When you take a package of performance and mathematically combine into a single figure, you have yourself a performance index.
This set of performance measures could be a collection of survey questions client you rolled into a pseudo "satisfaction global "index. Or perhaps a ministry or any group of companies following measures of performance, cleverly combined in a state "in progress "indicator.
Sometimes a little extra magic is woven into the performance index, in the form of coefficients that are given to each performance measure in question, with the intention of allowing greater action (or sometimes the most efficient measures) to have more influence in the how the overall index looks.
Why do you have a performance index?
Too many performance measures for review and analysis is one of the reasons behind the most popular means of a performance index. "I no time for all these measures! But I do not want to miss out on anything either! "
The performance index is often simply an ointment applied to treat the symptoms of a deeper problem that many do not realize can be solved directly.
If you have too many measures, then maybe you do not share enough around among your colleagues, or perhaps your measurements are not displayed in a manner that allows a quick search easy and accurate interpretation at a glance. Maybe you measure things that amoxil cheap you do not need to give your attention?
What price you pay for an index of performance?
The trends in each measure of underlying performance in your performance index vanish. For example, if the cycle time improvement and customer satisfaction is declining, the net effect of these two measures on your performance index is very diluted. But these are two very important signal for you to see and respond, as the performance index is hiding from you!
Even While most measures of underlying performance has lean the same way, and your performance index has shown a kind of signal itself, what do you next? You're probably asking "why?" and then get the answer. And how do you find the answer? You have to disentangle performance measures of the index to find causes. The performance index is just to give you extra work, you can not save everything.
If you use an index of performance?
In a word, no. Of course, avoid using a performance index as your first solution to a problem of overloading of measuring performance. Much better for the performance of your company or organization will be taking the time to ensure that you only measure things that matter most, that you are able to quickly and easily and accurately detect signals in the performance measures, and you have the information readily available to the analysis of the causes of a natural part of using your performance measures.
Remember that performance measurement is valuable information about your choices and to inform future actions to improve the performance of your company or organization. Most indices of performance have no power to do so.
